Big Plans.

The black walnut tree has started to drop it's pods on us, on the geese, and all over the lower garden. Marguerite decided to make a liqueur with them, using some strong alcohol and a big glass jar. Since the white goose, Fortunata, is shedding, I've decided to make quills and walnut dye and do some drawings. Since I've already been using raspberries and cherries, it seems like a natural extension. I can't remember how long to let the nuts steep in the water for, though...I hope I don't let them get rancid.

At the market on Friday I plan to get some whole squid and maybe an octopus, and try making squid ink drawings again. This time with the real ink. Maybe we'll use half the ink for pasta, half for drawing.
